We are proud to be partnered with The Greater Chicago Food Depository and the Community Gardens. These partners supply a wide variety of groceries and fresh produce, including canned goods, pantry staples (flour, oil, etc), fresh vegetables and other seasonal produce, and high-quality meats.

Around holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas, The Food Pantry is sometimes open on other days. Please call the church or email hello@chicagofirstchurch.org if you have any other questions.

We have an excellent, bonded team of volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering with us or have any other questions, please call the church office at (773) 363-0505.

**If you ever need food outside of pantry hours, you can contact the Greater Chicago Food Depository Directly to be connected with a nearby pantry. Delivery service is sometimes available. A one-time emergency delivery to your residence is also possible. If you nee immediate access to food outside our pantry hours, please call (773) 247-FOOD [773-247-3663]**

FOOD PANTRY DIRECTOR

Gail Robinson began directing the Food Pantry in 2020. She oversees a distribution program that feeds 80-120 South Side families every week during the pandemic, through the support of The Greater Chicago Food Depository.

At the Pantry, Gail leads an energetic and loving community of volunteers. If you are interested in joining this team, please email hello@chicagofirstchurch.org. For the duration of the pandemic, we are operating with a reduced number of volunteers.

In addition to her community leadership at the Food Pantry, Gail is an artisan who designs African-inspired leather bags and wearable art. Her brand, Artwear by Robbie, was established in 1998. You can learn more about her work and see her designs at www.robbiewear.com.

FOOD PANTRY SECURITY OFFICER

Tony Stevenson has been the Pantry’s Security Officer since January, 2021. He is a South Side native, and serves numerous food pantries in our community.

Tony is committed to ensuring that all the guests and volunteers of the Food Pantry feel safe and respected at all times. Although his job title is “Security Officer,” Tony is a beacon of hospitality above all else. His welcoming and inclusive spirit foster an atmosphere of love around the pantry.
